Ian Titchener has been in the music industry for over 30 years, has an all-encompassing knowledge of all aspects of the business and a contact book that is the envy of many. His extensive experience in the industry entails A&R, music publishing, record labels, promotion & marketing, artist management, project management, licensing, TV compilations, and more.
Having started in the business working for Bocu Music Publishing (home to Abba), he went on to set up the UK’s foremost promotion company, Rush Release. This led to his own labels, publishing company, distribution operation, artist management and TV compilation business. Then two periods both as Managing Director of an entertainment company and artist touring/management/label business. Now consulting on all areas of the business, for both major and independents as well as VC’s and private investors.
Ian has amassed over 200 Platinum, Gold and Silver sales awards, he gave Universal their first third-party top-ten hit. His companies have appeared in Music Week’s Top Ten, label, publisher and distributor surveys. He has represented Mobo award winning, Brit nominated artists, sold over 1 million compilation albums and scored more than 200 Top 40 hits. He has regularly appeared on industry panels at numerous seminars and is frequently invited to undertake lectures for music students.
